The American Association of Behavioral Therapists was founded in 1985. Our purpose is to assist counselors in the mental health and personal development fields to acquire higher levels of professional success and therapeutic proficiency. A major function of the Association is to gather and exchange information on how to be a more effective therapist, be aware of new career opportunities and how to maintain a successful practice. Membership is open to all professionals who use the behavioral sciences in their profession. Membership is interdisciplinary, including psychologists, family counselors, psychiatrists, clergy, hypnotherapists, biofeedback therapists and other related professionals. Members share a common bond in using the behavioral sciences to help others.
